TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Several children gathered to have some fun and get creative at the Vigo County Public Library.
Curious Kids is a series of summer events where children can get hands-on with experiments and learn about science. There are two events each month, and today they designed and tested homemade submarines out of water bottles, propellers and rubber bands.
Youth services librarian Angelina Melcho says that the experience shows kids what they can do with basic materials at home.
“It’s all about being curious and exploring and building and exploring different engineering concepts of building, trying something out,” Melcho said. “If it doesn’t work the way that you want it to, that’s fine, let’s try it again. There’s no right or wrong way to do anything, especially in building.”
