FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– With the summer months rolling in you might be thinking of taking a vacation this year and if amusement parks are your thing then the experts at Tickets2You Discount Ticket Deals might be able to save you some time.
According to a new study that analyzed google searches between May 2023 and April 2024 they we able to discover America’s most sought-after attraction tickets. They then used that data to whittle down the 339 theme parks analyzed to see which ones Hoosiers were most looking for.
First up leading the way is King’s Island with an average of 8,808 searches each month. King’s Island not only features family and thrill rides but also an impressive water park boasting 36 water slides. King’s Island also was the most searched park with our neighboring state of Kentucky with 6,547 monthly searches.
The Walt Disney World Resort comes in at number two with an average of 5,540 average monthly searches. Disney’s resort consists of four separate theme parks and two water parks and several Disney landmarks for you to visit and a nightly fireworks display. 22 states in total had this leading their lists as well.
Third is another park out of Ohio with Cedar Point having an average of 2,958 searches per month. This park features 65 different rides to enjoy giving lots of options for attractions for visitors. Cedar Point is also the highest searches in both Ohio and Michigan with 22,700 and 17,792 searches, respectively.
The only Indiana spot to make the top 10 for Hoosiers came in at number four. Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari had 2,244 searches. The Santa Clause, Indiana park recently made headlines with the announcement of a new “family coaster” called Good Gravy.
The rest of the list rounds out with Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom, Universal Studios Florida, Magic Kingdom Park, Six Flags Great America, and finally Epcot rounding out the top 10.
A spokesperson for Tickets2You Discount Ticket Deals commented on the study saying that Orlando had reaffirmed its position as the premier theme park destination since 4 of 10 of the top searches were all located there. With Universal set to open their new park Epic Universe next year also in Orlando they are wondering if Universal will finally usurp Disney’s top spot.
