TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It’s that time of year again, the 36th annual Terre Haute Strawberry Festival is happening on Thursday, June 13.
The festival will happen under the tents at the First Congregational Church in downtown Terre Haute at 630 Ohio Street. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.
While there you can enjoy “the works” which includes a sweet biscuit covered in fresh strawberries, then topped with ice cream and whipped cream.
Event volunteer, Gwen Hicks, stopped by the morning show where David and Jen got a chance to try the treats.
Hicks said they serve about 15,000 of the tasty treat each year.
“Bring the family,” Hicks said. “Bring everyone down: kids, grandma, mother-in-law, everyone. It’s just a great way to sit out and enjoy the music, and the sunshine. Of course, it’s going to be a beautiful day, and enjoy ‘the works’. It’s the perfect way to kick off your summer,” she added.
The church will also be offering tours of its historic stained-glass windows. The tours will take place at 2:30 and 5:30 Thursday afternoon.
