TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man has been arrested after police say he threatened someone with a knife while stealing a puppy.
According to Terre Haute Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Justin Sears, the investigation began after officers were sent to YOUnity Village in Terre Haute for a reported robbery on April 1.
Police learned that someone had stolen a puppy, and when confronted, that person threatened another individual with a knife. Investigating officers said the suspect was Gerry Neidhamer, however he couldn’t be found in the area and the investigation was turned over to detectives.
A warrant was then issued for Neidhamer for charges of armed robbery and intimidation with a deadly weapon. On Wednesday, THPD Officer reportedly located and arrested Neidhamer on his active warrant. Police also filed an additional charge of possessing paraphernalia.
Sgt. Sears added that the stolen puppy has not been found at this time.
