FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Duke Energy has made $5,000 donations to four economic development organizations in the west central and southwest portions of Indiana.
Knox County Indiana Economic Development, and Vermillion County Economic Development Council were among the organizations chosen to receive $5,000 as part of the companies 2024 Partnership Program.
“Economic development plays a vital role in the long-term growth and prosperity of the state,” Erin Schneider, managing director of business development at Duke Energy said . “Through these grant funds, we’re proud to support our local economic development partners as they work in new and creative ways to market their communities to site selectors and businesses across the world.”
Each organization had to submit a plan that would have a direct impact on their communities growth.
The Knox County funds will support the production of a marketing video that will highlight Knox County’s economic opportunities, attractions, and community resources. The video will be used online and during forums and industry conferences.
The Vermillion County funds will support several initiatives by the Economic Development Council, including the development of a Visit Vermillion County Tourism Trail, an Entrepreneurs Resource Handbook, and allow council members to attend conferences and training opportunities.
The Southwest Indiana Development Council, and the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership also received $5,000 as part of this program.
