TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Election Board met Friday afternoon to certify the 2024 primary election.
According to Vigo County election records, 13,773 ballots were tabulated during this year’s primary.
Vigo County clerk and secretary of the election board Brad Newman said he is pleased with his staff’s performance and that the election process went over smoothly on primary day.
“The way we do this is that we do this as a team and as a group, but our staff is second to none,” he said. “They take these very personally as this is they are passionate about the elections and without them, this county wouldn’t have successful elections and the things that they have got right now.”
Newman added that Vigo County School Corporation is planning to close school for election day in the future. This will allow them to use their facilities as voting centers to help out overall operations.
