TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — You can get your steps in and meet Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun as part of a new city initiative.
According to the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department, each walk will take place at a local park or trail within the city park system. The walks will be from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the first day of every month from May through September.
The Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department’s Recreation Director Jennifer Johnson said that this is a great way for the community to bond with the mayor.
“Some people may not be able to connect with the mayor or know how to connect with the mayor,” she said. “It is a way to put himself out there and be able to connect with the citizens of Terre Haute.”
The first walk will be on May 1 at Jones Trailhead.
