TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Marshall, Illinois is celebrating the eclipse with an unforgettable event.
Friday night, organizers kicked off the ‘Meet me in Marshall’ event with a 5k glow run or walk. All proceeds benefitting the Clark County Shop with a Cop.
This event will be going on all weekend with several different events. Saturday night there will be a firework and drone display, hot air balloons, and music performances. Ending the event on Sunday, with a kids day and telescope viewing.
Organizer Tim Sanders said it’s important to have events like this in the community.
“This is a time for us to highlight our community cause you’re never gonna have this many people coming to Marshall, Illinois over a weekend. So, we’re just really excited about to be able to showcase what we have here to offer for anyone who is interested in coming back,” he said.
