FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A barrage of three pointers and great teamwork helped Indiana State University defeat Utah in the NIT semifinal game, propelling the Sycamores to the NIT Championship.
Tuesday night ISU was led by Ryan Conwell who scored 27 points in the matchup. Robbie Avila also contributed a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds. ISU would end up winning the game by a final score of 100 to 90.
The win is the teams 32nd of the season putting them one win away from tying the 1978-79 team which featured Larry Bird that ended the season as NCAA runners-up to Michigan State.
On the other side of the bracket in Tuesday’s late game, the Seton Hall Pirates forced the Bulldogs of Georgia to walk the plank, sending them home with an 84 to 67 victory.
This all sets up the NCAA National Invitation Tournament Championship game on Thursday night with a 7 p.m. tip-off set for 7 p.m.
How to attend the game
Thursday night’s championship game is already sold out according to the official NCAA NIT page.
However, a number of seats are available through the secondary ticket sale market. The website SeatGeek, showed the cheapest available seats going for $127 a piece ($173 when fees are included).
Lower bowl seats were going for $461 with fees at the low end and $764 each with fees for row 8 near midcourt.
The above prices were found at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, the secondary market can fluctuate as the time of tip-off approaches.
How to watch the game on television
The game will tip-off at 7 p.m. (EDT) from Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University and will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+.
