UPDATE: The boil order was lifted on Saturday, according to the Switz City Clerk-Treasurer.
SWITZ CITY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A boil order has been issued for certain Indiana Water customers in the Switz City area.
According to the Town of Switz City, the affected area is between County Road 700 W and County Road 900 W. Customers are under a boil advisory until further notice.
The Town of Switz City noted that the cause of the boil order is due to a water main break.

The CDC’s guidance for how to properly boil water during these situations is as follows:
- Fill a pot with water.
- Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.
- Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
- Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.
- Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
