SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Local organization Our Father’s Arms is back to its mission after their building was destroyed by the tornado last spring.
Food distribution started again this month.
It takes place on Monday evenings and Friday mornings, families can receive the food once a month. Officials said in just three days of being open again they’ve served over 100 families.
The pantry was able to get grant funding to help get started purchasing food once more, they’ve also received donations from generous locals and organizations.
Northeast School Corporation’s elementary schools donated over 1,300 pounds of food. The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility donated 2,800 pounds as well.

Don Ransford is the president of Our Father’s Arms. He said that its been overwhelming to see what has transpired. He added that the organization is grateful to everyone who has helped get them back to business.
Additionally, the Duke Energy Foundation recently donated $10,000 to the pantry.
The money will be used to purchase wholesome food for the people that Our Father’s Arms serves.
