TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Three members of the Terre Haute Police Department will now work closely with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) organization as part of what officials describe as a key task force.
THPD made the announcement Friday, that Detectives Josh Loudermilk and Josh Goldner of the Juvenile Investigations division as well as Lt. Scott Funkhouser, the Supervisor of the Crime Lab will serve as members of the ICAC Task Force.
“The inclusion of Juvenile Investigators and Crime Lab members in the ICAC Task Force reinforces the Terre Haute Police Department’s commitment to adapting to evolving information and technology to safeguard our community. These roles ensure that we remain at the forefront of combating online exploitation and protecting our children,” a news release reads.
Officials pointed to each officer’s history with the organization and extensive experience in investigating crimes against children as to why they had been chosen for the roles.
“The Terre Haute Police Department is committed to providing the necessary resources and support to effectively combat online exploitation and protect our community’s children. The selection of Detective Loudermilk, Detective Goldner, and Lieutenant Funkhouser underscores our dedication to this mission,” a news release reads.
