VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the year and the holidays come to an end, people may be looking to take down their real Christmas trees, and the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department can help with the disposal.
According to the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department, residents are welcome to bring their live trees to either Fowler Park or Hawthorn Park.
The drop-off location for Fowler is in the Beach Parking lot and the drop-off location for Hawthorn is in the first parking lot to the left of the entrance.
The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department asks residents to make sure all decorations and lights have been removed from the trees before disposal.
The department also noted that any residents who are in need of trees for animal food, habitat or fish habitat are welcome to contact the office by calling 812-462-3392 for trees.
