EDINBURGH, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, the convicted burglar serving a 20-year sentence who walked away from a work site has been found and taken back into custody.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police found Marion Jaynes in Indianapolis shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Johnson County Prosecutor will determine any additional charges for Jaynes’ case.
Original: State and local law enforcement is searching for an occupant at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility who walked away from a work crew.
According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, Marion Jaynes was last seen at a work site at Camp Atterbury around 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Jaynes was last seen driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota with the license plate: TK699MLU.
The vehicle was last seen near Harding and Lambert Streets on the south side of Indianapolis.
Jaynes is currently serving a 20-year sentence for burglary at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility.
Multiple agencies are working on the case including the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Police, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Mooresville Police Department, and Indiana State Police.
Anyone with any information regarding Jaynes’ location is asked to call local police immediately.
