TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local restaurant is giving diners the opportunity to not only eat some pizza but also donate to several good causes in memory of a late local radio DJ.
Maurizio’s Pizza on Wabash Avenue will hold its second annual Dine to Donate event in honor of former media personality and radio DJ Matt Luecking on Tuesday, the anniversary of Luecking’s death on October 24, 2016.
During the event, a portion of each sale will be donated. The restaurant raised $700 for the Matt Luecking endowment during last year’s event and hopes to outraise that this year.
The fund benefits the following local organizations on a rotating annual basis, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, the Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department, and the Vigo County Education Foundation.
Luecking’s brother Eric encourages those who want to help honor the life and legacy of Leucking to use the hashtag #BlessedForAnotherDay on social media.
