CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local hospital ranks fourth in the nation as the fastest to transfer patients in need of acute coronary intervention to another facility.
According to a release from Union Hospital Clinton, the data, collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and compiled by Becker’s Hospital Review, notes patients who come to the hospital with chest pain or heart attack symptoms and the average time it takes for those patients to be transferred to another facility for care.
Many hospital employees and officials commented on the report and the recognition.
“This achievement demonstrates the intentional focus and dedication of the entire Union Hospital Clinton and cardiovascular care team at Union Health to ensure the best possible outcome for those suffering from a heart attack,” Stephanie Laws, Vice President and Administrator of Union Hospital Clinton said.
Hillary Smith, Nursing Care Manager at the UHC Emergency Department also commented.
