INDIANA (WTWO/WAWV) – Greg Goode announced Monday morning his plans to run for Indiana Senate District 38.
Republican State Senator Jon Ford announced last week that he would leave the position at the end of his term.
Goode released a statement that reads in part:
“Today, I am announcing that I will respectfully seek the opportunity to succeed Senator Ford
and continue his service as State Senator for Indiana’s 38th Senate District. I do so with a sense
of duty to our district’s residents and a commitment to upholding the exceptional legacy of
leadership standards set by Senator Ford. While Senator Ford is truly irreplaceable, I believe
Vigo, Clay, and Sullivan Counties deserve a public servant who will sustain his approach to
governance and public service.”
Goode has spent the last 9 months as the State Director for United States Senator Todd Young.
Senator Jon Ford, Representative Bob Heaton, Representative Alan Morrison and Vigo County Republican Chairman Randy Gentry released a joint statement supporting Greg Goode.
“Today, we are jointly announcing our full support and endorsement for Greg Goode to succeed
Jon Ford in Indiana’s Senate District 38. Each of us has known and worked with Greg for over a
decade. He is an individual with conservative convictions, Hoosier values, integrity, and is
committed to his community and state. He has a track record of getting things done and will
make a great state senator. We wish him the best and look forward to continuing to work with
him.”
