ROBINSON, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) – All of the museums in Crawford County, Illinois took part in an event to give complete access to the history of the county.
The History Hop event was where all of the museums were open to the public for one weekend. This gave the public an opportunity to go see all of what this county has to offer in one trip when they usually wouldn’t be able to, with free admission to all the museums.
This included activities at Fort Lamotte with military demonstrations, an archeology museum, and much more.
Sue Jones is a 30-year volunteer at the Crawford County Historical Society Museum, and she was very happy to be able to share these museums with the community.
“I decided to join the museum and I have never regretted it. I have had a lot of fun and there are other museums that I have visited, and I know the people who run them as well. They also think that it is a great place for people to come and learn their Crawford County history,” she said.
Officials say they were thrilled with the turnout and interaction with this event the past two days.
