TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese household spending fell 11.1% in April from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday, underscoring the pain the coronavirus pandemic has inflicted on the economy as efforts to contain the virus kept consumers home.
The fall compared with a median market forecast for a 15.4% drop.
