GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police released the identity of a man who died during a recent officer involved shooting incident.
According to ISP, the man who died was Jade R. Remick, 33, of Bloomfield. An autopsy was performed on Thursday, July 20.
No cause of death was given in the release. ISP has previously reported that the death happened while police were investigating a separate shooting event in Monroe County.
Deputies reportedly located Remick’s vehicle on Old Clifty Road near a tent. As the deputies exited their cars, they heard a gunshot from the tent and immediately took cover. A Greene County deputy then fired his department service rifle toward the tent.
Greene County Sheriff George Dallaire then requested ISP investigate the incident as an officer involved shooting. ISP said detectives are working closely with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office and that the investigation is ongoing.
