DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A work dispute between coworkers led to one man’s arrest after he reportedly stabbed his coworker at a Washington hotel.
According to Daviess County Chief Deputy Steve Sturgis, the stabbing occurred on Wednesday morning around 6:30 a.m. in Washington at a local hotel.
Both the sheriff’s department and the Washington Police Department responded to the scene where the suspect, Timucin Karca, a 45-year-old from New Jersey, was taken into custody without incident.
Sturgis noted that Karca stabbed the victim in the lower back due to an escalated argument about work, in which both the suspect and the victim were working together in a local construction crew despite both being from out of state. The victim, a 35-year-old male from Florida, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Karca was taken to the Daviess County Jail and booked under the following charges:
- Battery with a deadly weapon
- Battery causing serious bodily injury
