VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Officials in Vigo County say it’s unlikely the county will receive a disaster declaration for the recent storms that blew through the area.
County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard says, while the damage was extensive across the area, it is not enough to meet the qualifications for a disaster declaration.
In the southern part of the county, a drop off site remains open for limb and tree disposal. The drop off site is at 10970 South Sullivan Place. It’s open daily from 8 a.m. To 8 p.m.
Clinkenbeard says the site will be open through at least July 23rd and then officials will re-assess the need.
Commissioners still want residents to report damage to Indiana 211.
