TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — If you drove by a local coffee shop Friday you may have noticed police standing on the roof.
Indiana State Police, Terre Haute Police Department, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, and ISU Police took part in the event.
It’s called Cop on a Rooftop.
Law enforcement officers stood on the roof of Dunkin Donuts in Terre Haute as a way to raise funds for Special Olympics Indiana.
All the money raised locally will support local athletes who participate in the summer games.
“The great thing about living here in the Wabash Valley is people are very willing to donate to a good cause like this,” ISP Sgt. Matt Ames said.
Special Olympics Indiana’s summer games will take place June 9-11 on the campus of Indiana State University.
