MARION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO)/WAWV) — The DNR is hosting the third annual Teddy Bear camp for children’s stuffed animals in the area to enjoy.
Designed for ages 5-12, the Teddy Bear Camp event is organized by the Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology (DHPA) that encourages children to drop off their stuffed animals for a week of exploration.
The event will be from May 8-19, and those who live in Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, or Boone counties can participate.
Throughout the week at camp, DHPA staff will take the stuffed animals to many different locations to learn about history, architecture, archaeology, and historic preservation. The stuffed animal’s visits will be photographed and the DHPA will post them on its Facebook page. A digital photo album of the event will also be emailed to families along with an Indiana Junior Preservationist certificate.
