TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The CANDLES Holocaust Museum celebrates more than two decades in the community by launching a $25,000 for 25 Years fundraising campaign.
Holocaust survivor Eva Kor founded the museum back on April 30, 1995. She passed away last year and the museum is dedicating the next 25 years to her.
Development Coordinator Catie Hann says the next 25 years will be an opportunity to carry on Eva’s legacy by continuing to educate the community.
“Unfortunately mass atrocities are still happening to this day and as we begin to lose our survivors and witnesses to these atrocities, it becomes more and more important for us to carry their legacies, to share their stories,” says Hann.
