SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) (UPDATE — 3:15 p.m.) — Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed an executive order Saturday declaring a disaster emergency for Sullivan and Johnson Counties following Friday’s severe weather event.
“First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have perished in this storm and all who are suffering losses because of this incident,” Holcomb said in a press release.
“I will remain in contact with emergency management officials as well as local officials in Sullivan and Johnson counties as we continue to assess the damage, and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security is actively engaging with FEMA to assess the damages from the incident,” Holcomb continued.

(PREVIOUS) — Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb will be coming to Sullivan on Saturday to tour the area and assess the damage left by Friday’s storm.
According to a press release from the Governor’s office, Holcomb will be coming to Sullivan City Hall at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) to receive an update and tour Sullivan and the surrounding area.
Governor Holcomb will be accompanied by Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb along with other local officials, as well as State Fire Marshal Steve Jones, and Indiana State Superintendent Doug Carter.
