KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A minivan that was clocked going 107 MPH on US 50 led police on a pursuit that ended in a Vincennes man’s arrest.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Todd Ringle, the incident began at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday when a trooper patrolling US 50 near Robinson Road attempted to stop a minivan driven by Chad Bond, 50, of Vincennes.
Police said Bond refused to stop after getting clocked driving at a speed of 107 mph. Bond continued westbound on US 50 before turning south on US 41.
A second trooper reportedly laid down stop sticks causing the vehicle to slow and eventually stop on US 41 near Plank Road.
Police said when they ordered Bond to exit the vehicle he refused, a Trooper then broke the passenger window, and at that point was able to place Bond under arrest without further incident.
Bond was reportedly taken to the Knox County Jail. Bond has been preliminarily charged with the following:
- Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle
- A level 6 felony
- Reckless driving
- A class C misdemeanor
Vincennes Police as well as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
