CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An inmate who escaped the Clay County jail has been apprehended.
While performing kitchen duties, Christopher Myers was able to break a lock and door to escape the jail.
Numerous agencies were called to assist in the search including the U.S. Marshall Service and surrounding counties.
Myers was located with the use of unmanned aerial vehicle technology owned and operated by the Indiana Department of Corrections. Myers was spotted just blocks away from the Justice Center.
Myers is back in the Clay County Justice Center and additional charging information will be forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office.
An administrative review of the incident will continue in this matter.
