(Reuters) – The U.S. arm of German-owned discount supermarket group Aldi said on Wednesday that same-store sales in the United States rose by “double-digits” in the last 12 months as rampant inflation pushes consumers to find cheaper deals on groceries.
The retailer said its U.S. stores have added 1 million new customers, including more middle and high-income shoppers, over the last 12 months, and that it had started testing a new “shoppable” website for a small group of customers on Monday.
