TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A Terre Haute home will likely be deemed a total loss following an accident fire Friday afternoon.
The Terre Haute Fire Department responded to the house fire in the 900 block of South 9th Street around 3:46 p.m. Friday.
According to officials at the scene, an artist living in the home was using flames for a project and accidentally caught the house on fire.
Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading; however, siding on a home next door was melted from the heat.
No injuries were reported.
