GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – Following several incidents of road closure signs being moved, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department is reminding motorists to use the detour put in place while work continues on State Road 54 near Ridgeport.
The detour takes motorists through US 231, I-69 and State Road 45.
The sheriff’s department has also received numerous complaints of vehicles leaving the roadway and driving through private yards as well as other unsafe driving practices. Authorities say they will enforce all local and state traffic laws in the area.
They also remind the public that local farmers are still operating slow-moving farm equipment on these roads.
