TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One CVS location in Terre Haute was listed among 300 stores closing in the spring of 2022.
“To most effectively serve our customers and deploy our colleagues to where they are most needed in the community, our pharmacy at 905 Poplar Street is closing on Friday, April 1,” a CVS representative told MyWabashValley.com.
All prescriptions will be transferred to the CVS Pharmacy at 2440 Wabash Avenue, and employees have been reassigned to other nearby CVS locations, according to the company.
“The decision to strategically reduce our retail footprint nationally follows a deep analytical look at changes in population, consumer buying patterns and future health needs,” CVS said in a media statement. Maintaining access to pharmacy services in our communities and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community are also important factors we consider when making store closure decisions.”
Following the closure of the Poplar Street location, CVS will still have four other locations in Vigo County, including a MinuteClinic offering walk-in health services.
“We have no plans to close additional locations in the Terre Haute market this year,” the representative said.
