TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It was another very successful year for the HI-99 annual Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon.
On Feb. 16 and 17, HI-99 personalities, as well as local community members, including some WTWO/WAWV on-air talent helped encourage listeners to call in donations for a great cause. In the end, a total of $83,325 was raised for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Funds raised during the 2022 St. Jude Radiothon will cover the costs of continuous, aggressive childhood cancer research in the fight to eradicate these life threatening diseases for good. Donations will also fund the cost of travel, treatment, housing, and food for patients and families at St. Jude who never receive a bill – simply because the only thing a family should worry about is helping their child live.
The longest running St. Jude Radiothon in the state, this year’s event was the 32nd annual. To date, a total of more than $1.8 million has been raised.
“HI-99 thanks the incredible generosity of the Wabash Valley community for coming through for the kids at St. Jude once again, especially after a couple of tumultuous years fraught with unprecedented challenges. Through community support like this, St. Jude patients are given the most precious of gifts – hope.”
