BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A rehabilitation center based out of California is expanding it’s operations to the Wabash Valley. The See Purpose Center For Addiction Treatment facility will be located on 3237 N State Road 157 in Bloomfield.
Business partner Eric Moore said the idea for expansion came after he saw a need in Indiana.
“What I noticed were the families weren’t getting the proper treatment they needed. As well as their family members being transported to California or other states for treatment,” Moore stated.
See Purpose’s treatment focuses on battling addiction through an emphasis mental health.
One service provided is Mindfulness E.A.S.T. (Emotional Awareness and Skill Training). Dr. Dave Smith says the idea is to break the connection between emotions and drug use.
“What’s unique is we really do focus on the universal experience on emotion. We focus on giving mindfulness skills giving them skills to make constructive choices and giving them the life they want to have,” Smith said.
Working alongside him is Dr. Stephen Dansiger, with a specialization of E.D.M.R. trauma therapy, aiming to alleviate certain traumatic events that may have contributed to a want for substances.
Officials hope that after a patient leaves the facility they will have the independece to choose aftercare fitting their specific needs.
“The idea is they choose there own path to recovery. They’re more invested in it. Because they’re more invested in it, they defend it, and will stick to it longer. That’s our philosophy,” Evan Amarni, C.E.O. of See Purpose said.
Amarni and Moore confirmed the first resident for their Bloomfield home is set to move in this week.
