It’s needed to keep CODA’s emergency shelter open.
Terre Haute Regional Hospital presented CODA with a check for $10,000 toward its cause.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office also presented coda with a check for $5,100 from a car wash fundraiser.
Regional Hospital officials say it’s important to help since they see many patients who have experienced domestic abuse.
“As a medical staff we wanted to do something for the community. We have seen several stories where it has touched our lives. We wanted to do something substantial and we were very much heartbroken when we saw that we heard coda was going to stop. So we wanted to go ahead and add something to the cause there,” said Dr. Tejaswini Kumar.
The organization has until September 13 to raise the funds needed to save their emergency shelter.
