VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Good Samaritan Foundation recently received a large gift of more than $700,000 donated by the estate of the late Edna Pauline Bartlow, who passed away on Dec. 25, 2019 at the age of 83.
Mrs. Bartlow was born in Pontiac, Ill. on Jan. 27, 1936. She spent her life as an accountant and moved to Vincennes with her husband, Robert, after his retirement. The couple were very active with the Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church and enjoyed helping with Church on the Street.
Edna was a patient at Good Samaritan and was very appreciative of the care and attention she received during her time in the hospital and wanted to donate part of her estate to Good Samaritan Foundation. As per her wishes, the Foundation has established a fund in her name for patient needs.
“With this generous gift we will be able to help so many of our patients,” said Gary Hackney, Director of the Good Samaritan Foundation. “We are extremely grateful that Mrs. Bartlow chose to donate part of her estate to Good Samaritan.”
Clinical care departments of Good Samaritan will be able to make a funds request to the Foundation for patients they feel may need assistance for items such as home medical equipment, medication, transportation and other aides to ensure medical needs are met.
