WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A man is now behind bars after police surrounded a home in Washington, Indiana, Monday afternoon.
The Washington Police Department says it learned 32-year-old Elvis Medrano was at 600 Front Street. Medrano was wanted out of Sullivan County for drug charges and Iowa for a parole violation.
Washington Police and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Response Unit surrounded the home and attempted to call Medrano out of the residence.
Police say he did not exit, so CS gas was deployed into the home causing Medrano to exit on his own. He was taken into custody without incident.
Police searched the home and say they found items related to meth distribution and paraphernalia. Police say the investigation led officers to several other locations and they seized more methamphetamine, 26 grams in total.
Medrano now faces additional drug-related charges.
