TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Increasing job opportunities were on display right here in the Wabash Valley.
Goodwill’s Excel Center in Terre Haute hosted a job fair in partnership with Work One. This collaboration brought in local businesses that are hiring.
Some businesses at the job fair were Vigo County School Corporation, Indiana State University, state police, and many more. People brought their resumes, networked, and some applied for a job. The job fair was open to the public.
Carl Conwell, Director of the Excel Center, said the center is here to help you not only earn a high school diploma but also provide more career opportunities and connections.
“Come see what we do. You know, you can come in and tour the school, come in and sit through a class and see what it’s really all about. We understand that it’s very scary to come back to school after maybe being away for a while. We really strive to make this a fun experience for them. So, just getting them in here, letting them see what we do. I think they’ll love it,” said Conwell.
The Excel Center helps you earn your GED or high school diploma. To learn more about the center and how to volunteer or be a student, visit Academics – The Excel Center.
