TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology alumna and former leader of the institute’s Chi-Omega sorority has been named to the board of trustees.
Nellie Hohne, a 1999 mechanical engineering graduate, will join the board as the newest Alumni Representative.
Rose-Hulman said Hohne has been actively engaged with the institution for more than 20 years.
In 2002, she began volunteering as a member of the Young Alumni Council.
She then joined the Alumni Advisory Board, where she served as chair, vice president and president.
“Nellie’s commitment to Rose-Hulman and its alumni community is an inspiration,” said Rose-Hulman President Robert A. Coons. “Her leadership, enthusiasm, and understanding of the Rose-Hulman experience will provide a valuable voice on our Board of Trustees as we continue to build on our strong alumni engagement.”
Hohne says she is excited to continue working with a place she holds dear to her.
“The sense of community I experienced as a student is the same feeling that keeps me involved today,” Hohne said. “Rose-Hulman gave me so much—an excellent education, lifelong friends, and opportunities that shaped my career and life. Serving on the Board is another way for me to give back to a place that will always feel like home.”
Hohne and her husband Dan, have also established the Hohne-Magnanti Scholarship Fund to help “students achieve their academic and career goals,” said Rose Hulman
