PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Parke County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a shooting incident that left one person hospitalized and another person arrested in northwestern Parke County on Saturday night.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a shooting that happened in Howard. A male had sustained a gunshot wound to his left inner thigh.
The male was being transported to the hospital by a 21-year-old of Kingman. While driving to the hospital, deputies and medical personnel intercepted the two individuals on Tow Path Road. The individuals originally reported that the male was shot by an unknown suspect, while outside a residence.
According to the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation revealed the male’s injury was accidental and self-inflicted. Skyler Chowning (25) of Veedersburg was flown to an Indianapolis-area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Hannah Boswell (21) of Kingman was arrested on Possession of a Legend Drug.
The investigation remains ongoing. The Parke County Sheriff’s Office states additional charges are likely on both parties.
