WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Multiple counties across the Wabash Valley are under active burns due to the lack of rainfall and dryness.
Vigo County Commissioners have added the county under an active burn ban until Friday, October 17th.

Active burns in the Wabash Valley include:
In Indiana, Vigo, Vermillion, Parke, Fountain, and Warren counties. In Illinois, Coles, Lawrence, and Clay counties.
U.S Drought Monitor was updated on Thursday, October 9th with almost all of the Wabash Valley under dry or moderately dry conditions. Western portions of the area are even under severe or extreme drought conditions.
