MONROE CITY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a closure planned for next week in Knox County.
According to the news release, a section of State Road 241 is planned to be closed in Knox County near Monroe City. The date for the closure is set to begin on or around October 9 and will close State Road 241 between Buchanan Street and Cates Street.
The closure is being done so that crews will be given time to perform a pipe replacement project in the area. INDOT states that the work is expected to take two days, depending on weather conditions.
The official detour planned during the closure is:
- State Road 61 to Bierhaus Boulevard
- Bierhaus Boulevard to U.S. 41
- U.S. 41 to U.S. 50
Local traffic will have access to the road up until the point of closure. INDOT asks the public to slow down and stay alert when traveling through work zones.
