GREEENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man in Greene County is facing a level 5 felony charge after police allegedly found a stolen firearm inside his vehicle.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Nickolas McBride is facing a level 5 felony charge of theft after a handgun with an altered serial number was found during a traffic stop on his vehicle.
Police stopped McBride for allegedly driving with no headlights on and using his phone while driving. During the stop, police searched the vehicle and found the firearm.
The firearm had been reported stolen out of Daviess County, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
McBride was taken into custody, and the sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing.
