FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two people in Farmersburg are facing charges after an investigation into neglect of a baby.
Indiana State Police began investigating in May after receiving information from the Department of Child Services that an eight-month-old baby had been neglected and abused.
Police say investigation revealed that 25-year-old Nancy Sperling and 26-year-old Austin Barnard of Farmersburg had neglected the baby and placed the baby in dangerous situations.
Sperling and Barnard were arrested Thursday afternoon and booked into the Sullivan County Jail.
They both face charges of Neglect of a Dependent, Resulting in Bodily Injury and Neglect of a Dependent, Placing Dependent in Situation that Endangers Dependent.
