CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Many festivities are happening this Labor Day weekend and one with rich tradition is located up in Clinton, Indiana.
This weekend, the annual parade kicked off the little Italy Festival, and on Sunday, many other events were in store. This festival had anything from fried chicken on a stick to mustache and food eating contests.
All ages of the community came out to enjoy the festivities. A weekend full of silly events, lots of vendors to shop from, and walking around all while enjoying the beautiful weather.
Winner of the spaghetti eating contest said he entered the contest just for fun and tonight, he plans to participate in the pizza and meatball eating contests.
“Normally about a minute to eat an entire I think it’s medium pizza from Gerrie’s, so you gotta eat that as fast as you can and then the meatballs are like baseball-sized, so it takes a minute to get them down, but you get them down,” said Jonathan Wesley.
There is still a chance to visit the Little Italy Festival in Clinton. This festival will still have plenty more events taking place tomorrow, for Labor Day.
