INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Managed Health Services (MHS) is investing over $1 million in youth mental health programs across the state of Indiana. The funding will help support 24 organizations across the state, including five organizations in Vigo County.
MHS is a managed care entity that has served the state of Indiana for the past 30 years.
Their recent partnership opportunity from MHS Serves, the Youth Mental Health Empowerment Program, is a $1.2 million program that focuses on addressing health disparities across Indiana.
“Through a collaborative partnership with Indiana Minority Health Coalition (IMHC) and Black Onyx Management managing the program, MHS Serves strives to empower communities through partnerships and innovations focused on health access,” said MHS in a press release.
MHS said this program will help support the expansion or enhancement of the current programs, services, initiatives and resources in Indiana that address youth access to healthcare, mental health and trauma-informed care.
“By supporting effective program practices and professional development, MHS Serves will fund organizations in counties including Allen, Boone, Clark, Delaware, Elkhart, Floyd, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Harrison, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jasper, Johnson, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Newton, Putnam, Porter, Scott, Starke, St. Joseph, Vigo, Washington and 4 statewide coverage organizations through this initiative,” said MHS.
The organizations receiving funding in Vigo County include:
- Eclectic Soul Voices Corporation
- Firefly Children & Family Alliance
- Indiana Family to Family
- The Villages of Indiana, Inc.
- Foster Success
