CLAY Co. Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana state election officials have not made a decision yet on if mail-in voting will be available to all Hoosiers in November, but according to local officials, those who are currently eligible can request a ballot online.
Eligibility includes voter who are physically unable to make it to the polls or those who are working during voting hours on election day.
Clay County’s election clerk wants voters to know that online applications are easy to access and make the process quicker.
“You just fill it all out right there on the screen and it comes right directly to the County Clerk’s office. You never have to print anything, don’t mail anything. It takes three minutes, maybe. And then we will start mailing ballots out in September. That’s when you expect yours,” said Anola Gallion, Clay County election clerk.
The website to request the ballot can be found here.
Then, click on “Visit My Voter Portal”.
After entering your information, you will choose ‘Absentee Voting’, followed by ‘Vote By Mail’.
From there, you will find the online application.
