TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Fire Department battled two fires within 12 hours Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
The fire department was dispatched to the first fire, located at 1401 South 11th Street, around 3:57 p.m. on Monday. According to Terre Haute Fire Department Captain Nick Arnold, smoke was showing from the exterior of the building as the department arrived.
Arnold said the fire was contained in 20 minutes and is believed to have been started by an electrical fire. No one was injured and the house wasn’t a total loss.
Firefighters were dispatched to the second fire, located at 1835 Blaine Ave, around 5:37 a.m. on Tuesday.
Arnold said flames and smoke were showing as the department arrived at the structure. The fire was then extinguished in 15 minutes, and no one was injured.
The house wasn’t occupied, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
