TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Rose-Hulman is gearing up for its 2025-26 performance season.
Big names are coming to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Names like Cary Elwes, who played Westley in The Princess Bride, Ben Folds, who is an Emmy-nominated musician, and the band Kansas are just a few of the upcoming talents.
The season will kick off with a piano concert from Ben Folds and later in October, Cary Elwes will share a look at behind the scenes on and off of The Princess Bride and other inconceivable tales.
“The Princess Bride is really just an iconic film, so it’s really fun in that case. Really family-friendly, so everyone can come out. All kinds of fun lines, but I think also having the actor there live to be able to kind of share those really great stories from the filming process is really interesting,” said Daniel Tryon, Director of Performing Arts Program in Hatfield Hall.
With only 600 seats, Hatfield Hall is intimate, and Tryon says there are no bad seats in the theater. In fact, the balcony is only 50 feet from the stage.
“I think it adds a whole lot for the community and also for our campus. Our students and our staff love having big city amenities like right here in our small venue. I think that’s one of the greatest things here is that you get to see a band like Kansas in a 600-seat venue. I mean it’s pretty awesome,” said Tryon.
Today’s announcement is the culmination of a year-long effort to bring in curated acts for the community to enjoy.
Ben Folds’ concert is Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. For tickets and other information, visit Our Season | Rose-Hulman.
