KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The United Way of Knox County is looking for individuals, businesses, schools, churches and community groups to join forces for its annual Day of Caring.
The United Way says this two-day event—taking place Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 19— is one of the county’s largest volunteer initiatives, which aims to pair teams of volunteers with community-based projects and county-wide food collection efforts.
During Day of Caring, projects including landscaping, painting, minor repairs, organization tasks, and more will be designed to benefit local nonprofit agencies and community spaces.
“Day of Caring is a special time in Knox County where people can roll up their sleeves and work together to improve the place we all call home,” said Scott Charleston, Director of United Way of Knox County. “Whether you’re volunteering for the first time or returning with your team, your time and effort make a real impact.”
Volunteers can sign up individually or as part of a group here.
United Way says it will match volunteers with projects that best suit their interests, abilities and availability. All volunteers will also receive a free Day of Caring t-shirt.
